New House, New Home

We have a new home! After the three months of gypsy life living from suitcases we have own home! Our container has arrived but it is waiting for the custom clearance. I wanted to give you a sneak peak to our place though…These pictures have been taken when the previous tenants were still in the house so all the stuff is theirs. Cannot wait to get my own furniture and Scandi style in. You get an idea about the place anyway. It is two stories, downstairs we have one bedroom, lounge with working fireplace (yay!), kitchen and covered terrace which is like an extra room. Upstairs we have two bedrooms and a huge bathroom that has a jacuzzi and shower. The location is amazing. It is in South Melbourne, near South Melbourne markets, 10 minutes walk from my work and 20 minutes walk from our daughter’s childcare and CBD. Being so we don’t have to use any public transport as we can walk almost everywhere.

I love the white wooden shutters in this place. There is so much storage too as we have a big attic (can put the ski gear there -great!). All the rooms have beautiful in-built cupboards with white in-built chest of drawers. There is an aircon in the lounge and in both of the upstairs bedrooms and we have ceiling fans in every room. The small french balcony in the master bedroom is cute too! The floorboards are beautiful polished wood and the renovation in this place has been done to the finest detail. I recently said to my husband what are Aussies doing differently from English, these houses are Victorian but they do not have squeaky floor boards neither squeaky stairs, the floors have been done so well and every corner is beautifully sealed. The renovation is pretty immaculate. Kitchen has fantastic appliances. My favourite is the two level dishwasher. It is so handy as you can do only half a load. Small joys in life!
