Loistavia paikkoja ostaa ihania turkisliiveja Melbournessa ovat Bird of Prey Little Collins streetillä keskustassa sekä Fillys Stable Albert Parkissa Bridport streetillä. Bird of Prey on siitä mahtava, että he tekevät takkeja mittatilaustyönä, takin pituuden ja värin voi valita itse, hinta on hyvin kohtuullinen. Suosittelen mikäli olet turkiksen ystävä!
I have a fantastic lunch tip in Helsinki again! I have tried to discover a bit more unusual places and this is definitely it. Finnish design store combined with lunch bar. Healthy but tasty food too.
The place is called Nudge and it is located on Yrjönkatu behind Forum shopping mall in the centre of Helsinki. As in the Nordics quite often the design is combined with sustainable approach. The clothing and interior pieces are just gorgeus! The lunch is great spice for the store. It includes soup or salad and rice paper rolls. The flavours are combined nicely and the salad was extremely delicious, portion size big! I could not finish all my lunch as much as I tried.
They have different size lunch deals. I got the lunch deal that included three rice paper rolls and salad that on that day was a sweet potato, roasted cashew and rocket salad.
I got a king prawn roll, salmon roll and avocado cashew roll.
The salad was yummy and tasted super fresh!
They do coffee, wine and healthy smoothies too!
I recommend this place if you want to combine Nordic fashion with lunch.
I was admiring many clothing pieces for my little daughter (and for myself too…). The cuts are unusual and the clothes are like pieces of art. You can buy the clothes for kids also in online store called Aarrekid. The material for clothes was soft and high quality cotton.
Have a great Sunday! I just baked some cinnamon buns so I will run to eat them now whilst they are fresh from the oven!
I am proud to be a Finn for many reasons but one of them is definitely the amazing design that is born in this country. I love Eero Aarnio’s iconic design, it is 60s modern, funky and somehow it has lots of imagination in it.
One of my all time favourites is this ”ball chair” and I wish I own it one day. It would be a perfect reading corner! Also if I was ever to start my own business the office will have these in it to lounge and work!
Another thing that is on my shopping list soon is this ”Sandman” light (see below). It is on special in one store in Finland at the moment and I think I need to get it! The profile of this lamp is like a ”Sandman” character from my childhood’s TV show. It has that gentle fairytale image captured in it in a facinating way! So this week I probably will run to the store to get this lamp. No idea how I bring it to England.. in my suitcase..maybe in my carry on luggage..customs have always fun when scanning my bags ;)!
The last Aarnio thing is something for my daughter’s bedroom. I got the idea at Helsinki-Vantaa airport where the kids’ room had these funny dogs in it. I would love to buy the white one.
I also love Aarnio’s classic ”double bubble” lights but somehow they just do not really fit well together with my other interior pieces. They are gorgeus though!
Anyway, just thought I’d share my latest favourites with you! Now I need to run to the store. My auntie and grandpa are coming for a visit and I want to go and get some groceries to prepare a lovely lunch for them! My own recipes: grape chevre sandwiches and parsnip salad are on the menu!
Have a lovely day!
I love Nordic design and particularly Finnish design. I have mentioned that hundereds of times in my blog. I pretty much decorate my house with Nordic pieces as it gives me the feeling of being at home plus it makes it a bit unusual too. I love of course Marimekko and Vallila that are distributed to elsewhere in Europe. Another favourite of mine is Pentik. They produce classic a bit country style interior design pieces with modern Nordic twist. Their glassware is particularly lovely. Soft colours and round shapes.
I have Pentik Saaga set for dining and coffee. This time I bought couple of more pieces for that collection.
I bought serviets too to go with my Saaga set.
I also bought a woolen throw. I have struggled to find a soft woolen throw in Enland. The kind of that would be soft not itchy and also good quality. The challenge with woolen throws is that you want to have 100% wool, but the wool fibre needs to be soft not coarse. In addition to this challenge in many countries they tend to mix wool with acrylic or polyester, this has been the case with most of the lovely woolen throws I have found in London. I have dreamed of this grey and white one since I saw it online so I headed to the Pentik store yesterday and bought one for our master bedroom. It is so beautiful. The birds on the throw give that kind of rural but soft vibe. The grey and white will go nicely with my grey, white and black Marimekko ”Satula” curtains.
I am still dreaming of their Saga throw too…
